Title: Rings of time

Materials and Techniques: Merino 19 wool, wool locks, silk, viscose and cotton fabrics, 

Inspiration:  Tree rings mark not just the years passed in a tree's life, but also carry marks of its ecological history: times of drought, times of plenty, times of biological balance and imbalance. They carry warnings as we humans try to understand how to navigate global warming. I contemplate and am moved by the history shown to me by the beached logs on the BC coast, relics of today's forest industry.

Title: Geological Time

Materials and Techniques:  Merino 19 wool, Rambouillet batt, silk, viscose and cotton fibres

Inspiration: Mountain rock faces bear witness to time told in layers of sediment, formed and distorted by tectonic forces over millions of years. I am humbled and strangely comforted as my petty sorrows and joys find their place in earth's history and in the universe. I strive to respect and create value during my short time on earth.
