‘Muurbloempje’ (Wallflower)

Leftover Felted strips rolled and needle felted on the the bottom and after than some wet felting to make it stronger. I made it into a wallflower by placing it in a handmade ceramic pot which can be mounted on the wall.

I make these kind of flowers with the leftover cut-offs from my large wall pieces. I can never throw these kinds of felted strips away. I love the way I turn ‘waste’ into a new blooming artwork. Most of the time I don’t like the original colour of the leftover pieces, so I decide to use leftover dye as well. I do a lot of dyeing and so even the smallest amount of dye is absorbed by the flowers. I also love the combination of felt and ceramics.
