Title: Urchin Lights

Materials and Techniques: Wet felted on resists using merino wool, kozo paper, silk, and yarn. Resting on the ocean floor made with merino wool, silk and cheesecloth, the urchins are lighted using puc lights attached to wood base. 

Inspiration: Living close to the Pacific Ocean, we have strong connections to water and nature. The sea urchins come in many sizes and colors but all have a similar skeleton shape. Making the various sizes, and working out the lighting was my challenge.
