Title: Puzzle

Materials and Techniques: Corriedale base and local hand processed Gotland design with a touch of silk threads and Tencel. Wet felted and cut into pieces.

Inspiration: I always wanted to make a felted puzzle—actually, two, since the reverse has its own pattern (not shown here). How does it feel to handle the soft, tactile pieces? How easy or hard is it to find the connections? How does a wool puzzle change the experience?

Title: VanDusen Doodle

Materials and Techniques: Wire & wool. Wet felted 3D soft sculptural flowers.

Inspiration: In search of a new mounting idea, I came up with what looks like drawing or doodling using a wire and attaching my soft sculptural flower as if they were floating. What a lovely happy accident that can just grow and grow, connecting one piece to another just by tucking it next to it.
