The Beech Stand

Inspired by the modest stand of American beech trees I view from my kitchen window. This lovely little stand of American beech trees, with their silvery gray bark, stands out against the dark bark of the oaks, elms, poplars and maples that dominate my little urban forest.

Wet felted vessel made from merino and bergschaf wool blended to replicate “glazing,” embroidered embellishments and American beechwood handle.

Morning Visitor

This piece was inspired by the little Carolina wren that visits my porch each morning to forage seeds and insects from my potted plants.

Needle and wet felted merino and corriedale wool over wire armature, mounted on American beechwood stump.
