View From My Kitchen Window

I have been fortunate enough to enjoy this view from my kitchen window for the last 30 years. The magnificent oak tree stands sentinel in the field. I am grateful to farmers past and present for leaving these individual oak trees for future generations to come, to love and enjoy. About 20 years ago this tree was struck by lightening and lost a large limb. It still bears the scar.

My representation of the view is depicted as if with my iris around the scene.

Textile paints and pens on nuno felted Margilan silk with wet felted fibre surround (merino, locks, yarn, viscose and silk) plus beading and machine embroidery mounted with bias binding, stiff card backing and backing fabric.
