Needle felted using an artist’s canvas background, I layered felt for the sky and field and then added more wool for the poppies, I then added detail with embroidery to give the impression of cornflowers and grasses.

My inspiration was Claude Monet’s Poppy field at Giverny II but I wanted to bring the poppies even more into the foreground, linking to the theme of Flora and Fauna. I love the sense of movement in his work and the bold use of colour.
