Earlier this year, a deadly virus spread throughout the world and confined us all to our homes. For many, it has been a time of bereavement, loss, and hardship…there is no doubt of that. However, as with all clouds there have been some silver linings too. Perhaps the most positive of these has been a sense of reconnection…with people, with activities and with our world.

And what of feltmakers? What has this meant for our IFA?

International Feltmakers Assocation AGM 2021

Well, our original plan for next year was for the 7th European Felt Days in Felletin, France to host our AGM. It was the biggest event on the IFA calendar. The event itself will still take place from 16th to 18th April 2021. However, given the continuing global uncertainties surrounding travel and large-scale events, the IFA committee have decided to postpone our Felletin AGM for the time-being. We are particularly grateful to the organisers for all their work and their understanding of this tough decision. We wish them all the best in their European Felt Days.

For our part, we will hold a Virtual AGM and Exhibition Launch the weekend of Saturday 27th and 28th March, 2021 to which we invite all our members, wherever you may be in the world.

The theme, ReConnect, will provide a link between the events on offer over the weekend and our second online exhibition. We hope it will be a celebration of all the ways in which members have reconnected over the past few months and continue to do so.

We are currently working on a timetable of talks, demonstrations and, of course, the AGM itself, designed to include as many time zones as possible. That way, members from around the world can participate. Events will be free but you will need to sign up for each one. They will be recorded and uploaded to our YouTube channel, with an unlisted link for you to access and enjoy at your leisure.

As the programme develops, we will keep you updated via the website, Mailchimp communications and social media channels.

In the meantime, please note these rescheduled dates in your 2021 calendars.
