Finnish Felt Association FILTTI tours the UK |

This exhibitition is focused mainly on interior items; there are no clothings or accessories in the show. They have items such as carpets, curtains, cushions, wall hangings, sculptures and decorative pieces in the show from 30 felt artists.
The felt products chosen for this exhibition are from an interior felt exhibition which Filtti held in January & February this year in the Arts & Crafts Center Verkaranta inTampere in Finland.
The first UK venue is Ludlow Assembly Rooms, 1 Mill Street, Ludlow. The exhibition will open 13th August and lasts until 26th September 2010. Opening times daily are from 10 am until 8 pm. Visitors are advised to phone the box office (01584 878141) to confirm times.

From Ludlow the exhibition will travel to Coldharbour Mill (www.coldharbourmill.org.uk) in Devon from 2nd to 31st October.
About Filtti
The purpose of the Finnish Felt Association Filtti is to unite feltmakers, felt artists, handicrafters, teachers, tutors and wool producers. Filtti membership has grown to 180 members and this year Filtti is in its 12th year.
The association promotes the cooperation between members, professional skills and common advantages, supports exhibition activities and gives information of both domestic and international events, exhibitions and contests. Each year Filtti has 4 – 5 exhibitions in Finland.
The association works together with several different interest groups both in Finland and abroad. |

FibreFocus 2010 is an Exhibition of Textiles by The Dorset Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers at the Exchange, Sturminster Newton, DT10 1FH from 30 September to 3 October 2010, 10.00 am to 4.00pm.
As well as a display of Guild work, demonstrations, archives going back over sixty years and a sales table there will be two events on Saturday and Sunday 2 and 3 October organised by specialist suppliers, Wingham Wool Work – on Saturday a ‘Sampling Workshop’ and on Sunday a ‘Dabble Day’.

Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair Is Back For Third Year |

Now in its third year, the contemporary craft buying event will feature 150 designer-makers in ceramics, jewellery, textiles, glass, furniture and other fashion, home and interior products.
This year, the organisers have announced the addition of Great Northern Graduates, an area of the show which showcases the best from this year’s creative degree courses. Showcasing their work in this prime exhibition space, successful graduates will gain exposure to leading curators, buyers, journalists, collectors, galleries and the public, providing an essential element in the transition from student to employable designer.
Visitors at the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair can spend the day in a relaxed yet stimulating atmosphere, chat to the makers and find out the story behind the work. The event will give visitors an appreciation of how much work goes into each unique piece and offers the opportunity to buy directly from the person who made it.
