I love colour and texture so I have been naturally drawn to textiles as a working medium. With the discovery of traditional hand felt making techniques I am in seventh heaven - it combines so many of the elements I enjoy most.

Felt gives a strong, versitile fabric for colour mixing and surface texture. With the addition of other fibres you can change its feel and stucture, and with the Nuno method of bonding wool fibres to cotton, silk or other loose weave fabric a whole world of new colour and texture possibilities opens up.

Of course, once the felt is made the possibilities of decoration using embroidery, beads and other embellishments is endless. What fun!

I particularly enjoy using the Nuno Felt method, utilizing unbleached cotton which I either leave natural or dye, or silk as a base. My scarf designs have been particularly well received and I am developing new design ideas all the time.
